Coach tips

• Call players and colours unpredictably so every team has to listen and react.
• Award 1 point to the player who completes the called task first and returns the ball correctly.
• Put the ball back on its cone before the next call.

How to play

1. 1

   Set up four players, each with their own starting area. Place the coloured balls on cones in each starting area.

2. 2

   The coach calls a player and a colour, for example “Rob, yellow!” Only Rob reacts to the call.

3. 3

   Rob moves to the right ball, collects the yellow ball and brings it to the middle.

4. 4

   Rob then returns it to his own starting area. The first player to complete the call correctly wins the round and gets 1 point.

5. 5

   Reset the ball on its cone and make the next call. Call any player and any colour so all four teams stay involved.

Ways to play it

• Standard

  Four players at four stations, using a simple locomotor skill.

• More distance

  Move the coloured cones further from the players’ starting areas.

• Movement challenge

  Keep the same format but change the locomotor skill each round: run, hop, skip or side-step.
